September Shorewood Events

September 1st:  Spaghetti dinner: 4-6:30 p.m. Sept. 1, Knights of Columbus 382 Hall, 100 S. 129th Infantry Drive, Joliet. Cost is $7, $5 for ages 6-12, free ages 5 and younger. Carryouts available. Call 815-725-0746.


September 8th @ 6pm:  Taxpayer Education Forums - held by the Will County Supervisor of Assessments, this forum will be held at the Black Road branch of the Joliet Public Library.  Alternately, you can attend the September 9th forum @ 6:30pm at the Romeoville Village Hall Community Room (1050 W. September 8th:  United Way of Will County Golf Outing @ Broken Arrow Golf Club (Lockport).  Round up a foursome for a spectacular day of fun.



September 8th:  Pokémon league: 5-7 p.m. Sept. 8, Joliet Public Library-Black Road branch, 3395 Black Road in Joliet. No registration required, but children who want to duel should bring their own deck of 60 cards. Call 815-740-2663.


September 11th:  Holy Family picnic: Noon to 10 p.m. Sept. 11 on Holy Family Church grounds, 600 Brook Forest Ave. in Shorewood. Featuring games, entertainment and food.


September 11th:  2010 Shorewood Scoot 5K Run & Walk, benefiting the "Make Your Mark" Mark Staehely Pediatric Cancer Foundation..  Registration and packet pick-up is 7 to 8 a.m. A Sept. 11 memorial service begins at 8 a.m. The 5K run and walk is at 8:30 a.m.  Provena Physical Therapy and Industrial Rehab, 852 Sharp Drive, Shorewood



September 17th:  Box City of Hope @ Galowich Family YMCA.  Give up one night of comfort and show how you can make a difference to those experiencing homelessness, organized by MorningStar Mission.  Entertainment
from Sheltered Reality, Exclusively CD’s and a Scavenger Hunt.

September 18th:  Back To School BlastGalowich Family YMCA. Hayride & family games from 11am-12pm. and swimming from 12-1pm.  Refreshments and snacks will be provided.  Register by Sept. 4th.  Free for members, otherwise $8 per family.

September 19th:  Fall Paw FestBarber and Oberwortmann Horticultural Center (227 N. Gougar Road, Joliet).  Canine demonstrations, vendors, rescue groups, canine contests, fun games and more.  For more information click here.
